APTUR CHILE Members Earn Nominations for the Open Passport Award

The final of the international competition will take place on September 4 in Panama.
Within the framework of the 12th Tourism Journalism Congress, held in the Dominican Republic, the World Organization of Tourism Journalists, OMPT, announced the nominees for the 2023 Open Passport awards.


In that context, journalist and current Training Director of APTUR Chile, Paola Fernández Chamaca, received the nomination in the career achievement category.

"I feel very happy and grateful to be nominated for an international distinction. Tourism also energizes local economies, which makes it vital to sustain a narrative, story and content that reaches in the best possible way the audience that decides to discover a destination".


Likewise, another of the nominees is APTUR Chile member and Vice President, Rodrigo Salazar Valenzuela, who received the Media Contribution nomination for his media outlet Sabor y Saber.

In this regard, Dalma Díaz, President of the Association of Tourism Journalists of Chile, APTUR Chile, stated that "the nomination of Paola and Rodrigo reflects the importance of tourism communication. Both members are professionals with extensive experience and journalistic standing in Chile".

The 2023 Open Passport awards will be presented in the Province of Chiriquí, Panama, an occasion expected to gather some 50 journalists and tourism entrepreneurs from different parts of the world.
