The 2nd World Chefs Congress was the perfect stage for lovers and professionals of gastronomy and culture; the event, held in the city of Charata, Argentina, brought together 15 chefs from different countries, who shared their knowledge and experiences in the culinary field.

Among them stood out the Chilean chef Cristian Urrutia, who represented Chile and presented an experience from the sea to the land, highlighting local products and the most exquisite ingredients Chile has to offer.
Cristian Urrutia told us as an exclusive that: "what struck me most was getting to know the culture of the other countries... because although there were 15 countries with their culture and their gastronomy, I think Latin America comes together with very similar recipes in terms of product; we even made the comparison between the Humitas we have, the Tamal and all the preparations that are very alike; so the same Potato, Quinoa, and others used across Latin America, in Peru as well as Ecuador and Bolivia, are used a great deal, and that really caught my attention, which makes us brothers of one same people, uniting us even more through the gastronomy of America"
He also told us that Charata, Argentina, has interesting products such as the Mistol, a fruit that grows on a tree typical of the Chaco forest and has a very particular flavor, much like the Chañar from the North in taste; and there is plenty of variety, such as types of pennyroyal and very enjoyable flavors to cook with there;
Argentina also has much in common in some preparations; for example, the fried cake served with mate is very similar to the southern Sopaipilla."
Lastly, he mentioned that "the great work of Ana María Galarza, who is working hard for tourism through her page temuestro_otrochaco, gave us a much broader view of this beautiful place".

Through signature flavors, Chef Urrutia presented our vast territory with an author's cuisine of national produce, alongside the brands: R Ceramic, By more, Katankura, Merken Aburman, Jata chile, Cecotec Chile, and also represented by the country's tourism promotion brand "Marca Chile").
As for its organization, Culture Secretary Teresita Grillo, together with Maricel Bazan, founding president of the project "Unidos por el Pulmón de América", were the ones who presented the eagerly awaited 2nd World Chefs Congress with the municipality's support.
The Unidos por el Pulmón de América project is a space for gathering, training and practice around fair, clean and sustainable cooking; pillars among the guiding principles in the professional practice of cuisine, using food inputs from their own region that grow at the rhythm of nature.
